We started with a question that wouldn't go away:

"What actually happens to old IT equipment when organisations are done with it?"

The answer, too often, was nothing good. Data left exposed. Equipment dumped irresponsibly. Compliance corners cut. Organisations left hoping for the best — and occasionally paying the price for it.

We believed there was a better way. So in 2021, we built it.

Computer Waste Recycling was founded not because there was a gap in the market — but because there was a gap in the standard. A standard of care. A standard of transparency. A standard of genuinely doing right by the organisations, the data, and the environment all at once.

Today, we’re proud to have earned the trust of over 650 organisations — from NHS Trusts and local councils to global brands and diplomatic missions. Each one came to us with the same underlying need: someone they could hand their old IT to and actually trust.

Founded in 2021 and based in Leicester, we work with businesses, schools, healthcare providers, local authorities, charities, and public sector organisations across the UK to manage end-of-life IT equipment — securely, sustainably, and professionally.

Are you fully certified and compliant?

How do you guarantee my data is completely destroyed?

We use certified data wiping and physical hard drive shredding where required. Every storage device is individually tracked and you receive a Certificate of Destruction with a full audit trail. Data destruction is handled in-house — never outsourced to third parties.

What makes you different from other ITAD companies?

Three things: accountability, transparency, and genuine environmental commitment. We own our entire collection fleet — no subcontractors. We provide real-time asset tracking. And we back our zero-landfill policy with evidence, not just marketing. You get a named account manager, not a call centre.

Do you collect from multiple sites or large volumes?

Yes. Our nationwide fleet handles everything from a single office clearance to multi-site refresh projects involving thousands of assets. We’ve successfully managed collections across 40+ locations for single clients. We plan each project around your schedule, not ours.

Can we get a value back from our retired assets?

In many cases, yes. Where devices are still functional, we assess them for refurbishment and offer a fair market return. This is part of our circular economy approach — extending asset life reduces waste and can offset your disposal costs. We’ll always be upfront about valuations before collection.

What documentation will we receive after disposal?

You receive a Destruction Certificate, a full asset inventory report, an audit trail for every item, and an environmental impact report showing carbon savings and diversion rates — all audit-ready for GDPR, WEEE, and ESG reporting.

How quickly can you arrange a collection?

We typically arrange collections within 5–10 working days of enquiry, though we can accommodate urgent requests. Contact our team and we’ll work around your decommission timeline.
