Computer Recycling Derby
Computer Recycling Derby Free, Secure IT Disposal for Businesses
Certified, secure IT recycling for Derby businesses, with free collection, guaranteed data destruction and nothing sent to landfill.
Derby is home to the UK’s rail and aerospace engineering, so its businesses handle some of the most sensitive design and operational data in the country. When that hardware reaches the end of its life, it needs to be retired properly. Computer Waste Recycling collects for free, destroys every byte of data to certified standards and returns the paperwork your auditors expect.
Whether you’re a rail supply-chain manufacturer, a city-centre office, a school or an NHS site, we manage the whole job from your door to final, zero-to-landfill processing.
- ✅ Free collection across Derby and the East Midlands, and nationwide
- ✅ ISO 27001 certified data destruction with a certificate for every device
- ✅ Environment Agency registered waste carrier, with nothing sent to landfill
- ✅ Full GDPR, WEEE and hazardous-waste documentation
- ✅ In-house processing: your equipment isn’t handed to unknown third parties
- ⭐ Trusted by 1,000+ UK organisations and rated 4.8 on Trustpilot

Data Destruction for Derby Rail, Aerospace and Engineering Firms
Design workstations and test rigs in rail and aerospace hold drawings, test results and supplier data that customers expect you to protect. A deleted file isn’t gone and a formatted drive can still be read, and under UK GDPR the responsibility stays with you until the data is provably destroyed. Computer Waste Recycling erases each drive to a recognised standard (NIST 800-88 / NCSC guidance) or physically shreds it, and every data-bearing device is matched to its serial number on your Certificate of Destruction. That gives you a clear record for customer and supply-chain audits. For the legal detail, see our data destruction page.
Hazardous WEEE and Compliance for Derby Businesses
Not all old IT is ordinary waste. CRT monitors and anything battery-powered, such as laptops, UPS units and phones, are classed as hazardous waste under the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations, and they carry extra legal duties. This is what applies in England today:
- Since 1 April 2016, businesses in England no longer register their premises as hazardous waste producers, so there is no 500kg threshold to track.
- You must still use a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note for every collection that includes hazardous items.
- Records must be kept for at least three years.
- Hazardous waste must only be moved by a registered waste carrier, which Computer Waste Recycling is.
- From October 2026, England begins moving to the government’s new Digital Waste Tracking service, so accurate, traceable records will matter more than ever.
We produce and manage all of this documentation on your behalf, so your Derby business stays compliant without the admin.
How a Derby Collection Works
1. Tell Us What You Have and Where
Call or send us a list with your postcode. For engineering sites, tell us about gate access, shift times and any CRT monitors or batteries, so we prepare the right paperwork.
2. We Collect and Log Every Item
Our tracked, unmarked vehicles collect from your site, and every item is counted and recorded under a documented chain of custody.
3. You Receive the Paperwork
Data is destroyed first. Usable equipment is refurbished and the rest is recycled for material recovery, with nothing sent to landfill. You receive certificates, an asset report and waste documentation.

Computer Recycling in Derby: FAQs
Is computer recycling free in Derby?
For most business collections, yes. It depends on how much equipment you have, what it is and its condition, and equipment with resale value may earn a rebate. Send us a list and we’ll confirm the cost before anything is booked.
How soon can you collect in Derby?
Quickly, and around your schedule. Give us your postcode and preferred date and we’ll confirm the earliest slot across Derby and the East Midlands.
Do you handle the hazardous-waste paperwork for CRT monitors and batteries?
Yes. We classify hazardous items correctly, issue the Hazardous Waste Consignment Note and keep the required records, so you don’t have to manage any of it.
Do you subcontract the work?
No. Your equipment is collected, processed and destroyed by our own team, which keeps the chain of custody intact from start to finish.

Yes. Pride Park, Infinity Park and the industrial estates are among the sites we cover. Let us know about gate access and shift times when you book, and we’ll plan around them.
